OK so I'm not a scientist, but what do you think about where God and everything came from?

I know this is not much of a scientific question but maybe you have your own opinion scientific or not about how it all started, you know beyond the big bang idea that Stephen Hawkings is trying to figure out.  I mean so what if we figure out how or when the universe started, what about exsistence in general, God, us, everything?  when did it all start?

Well you sure don't leave the simple questions for last do you?...  Are you sure you really want me to answer this question... and of course sorry for such a long time until I reply, I will always reply to important questions but I often do take time... I am old you know and us old folks work slowly.

So you want Einstein's opinion on where God and everything came from.  You must understand that your question has no possibility as of yet to completely be proven scientifically.  The only thing I can do at best with all of my understanding that I have gained over the years is to lay it out as I understand and hypothesize.  Now of course you must understand that this site is dedicated to the common man and the need to explain everything so that a common person can understand the principals or ideas I lay out here... so with that in mind I will forgo formulas and deeper explanations but I will try and paint a picture that most people can grasp.  You know this is going to be long winded because you have ask a very deep question and I have deep answers that I am going to try and bring to a shallower surface for understanding sake.  This may take some time and creative word painting but here it goes...

First let us look at all of the evidence pointing toward the Big Bang Theory... I won't lay it out here because there is so much information already available on the scientific level that it can be found most any and everywhere.  Let's just say that all of the data gathered on such an event has great power and is difficult to refute when analyzing all of the tests, observations and theories.  I for one believe very strongly in such an event, yet I do not subscribe to all of the ideas surrounding the physics of it all.  All things in this universe point to a time where all matter as we know it came from a single pinpoint and expanded o in all directions from there.  There are many observations that show that the expansion is not uniform nor perfect in shape and this seems to be key to actual creation as you might say or in other words a key to the stability of the universe... but we will leave that discussion for another time.

Now we start to go a little deeper in theory... Your question is "what do you think about where God and everything came from?"

First you must understand the question...  When you place God in the equation with everything, these two subjects must be answered separately.  Everything as you are pointing out, I am gathering that you are referring to the temporal existence as we know it right now and that would have to be for the common man, the 3rd dimensional universe.  This universe as you are able to detect it, is made up of matter tangible, energy, space and on and on according to how you might define the elements that make up this existence as you can connect with it.  So what makes up existence?  Well, so as not to get to scientific for you, let us try and play alchemist for a moment and just call it as we see it.  I don't want this conversation to get entangled in the E=MC² discussion because then we will have to differentiate between energy and matter and the speed at which everything is traveling to make sense of it all and that will only serve to confuse a simple explanation.

The universe has basic observational properties... SPACE in other words a place to hold everything else.  So let's just first get an idea of how to comprehend space.  First let's empty space of everything that is in it and just look at the fabric of space. (that right there is a big conversation in and of itself) The fabric of space seems not to be emptiable (is that even a word? :)What I am getting at is the theories of dark matter... but let's save that for another time too.  So back to space... let us just consider it as one big giant room with all the lights turned out and no walls, floors or ceilings for as far as you can travel and then some.  This concept is difficult for 3rd dimensional people to grasp because we always believe there must be an end to everything somewhere, but not this time... space has no walls or end to it's distance despite what some scientists may say about measuring the size of the universe.

Taking a break since this is going to be a long explanation.......
